8th wonder : Who cares if u dont care ??? a lot of people do...
Herbis : my pc is old too...and i got a pro M-AUDIO pci sound card... what kind of audio card u got ? a mother board one ? this game feels so real and perfect as far as gameplay...yet the easiest thing to do that takes away all the realness...still aint done after a patch, how hard can it be to fix this ???? and how come they never noticed it in the first place ??? were they too busy testing the console version ??? I want to know your OS and soundcard(detail product name).
I think your soundcard doesn't support EAX 2.0 or your OS is VIsta. Maybe NBA2K9 sound effect use EAX in DS3D. Near the mic on court, ball sound increase. XP supports DS3D, But vista doesn't support DS3D. So I can hear basketball bounce in XP(not in vista). My soundchipset(motherboard one) is Realtek ALC 888. It supports software EAX2.0 in XP Check your soundcard function with sensaura information tool. Last edited by prime83; January 15th, 2009 at 06:02 PM. |

can this be called a bug?well probably only in a pc game.I don't know if you can hear any ball bounce when you sit in an crowded arena where everyone chatting & chanting around you cuz i live outside US.But at least on tv live i really didn't notice that sound, sure not utterly without a bit,and definitely not all over the court either.Personally this "bug" makes game experience kinda realistic to me

prime83 : thx for info about this EAX thing i didnt know about...
my os is XP SP3, soundcard is M-AUDIO Audiophile 2496 (pci) with ASiO for music production... and no EAX support... otherwise i have integrated sound on my asus p5wd2-e mobo researching about this... i found this...might have to experiment to make the two work together... http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/.../t-158969.html http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/...6-work-easport http://www.driverheaven.net/audio-ge...undcard-2.html http://pages.globetrotter.net/samaus...il-Velbac.html : THE SOFT TO MAKE 2 SOUNDCARD WORK TOGERTHER... not sure if my integrated sound from mobo supports this EAX thing though... notanonymous : when i play a bball game i tend to think im the ball handler on the court, not the guy eating popcorn in the middle of the crowd... and since its definatly a hardware/software problem cuz some people do hear the ball bouncing everywhere on court , so YES u can call it a bug... |

P5wd2-e mobo may have Realtek ALC882M soundchipset. and it supports EAX1.0 & 2.0.
(I wish you have it.) If you use your integrated sound on your motherboard, you can hear the basketball bounce on court. you don't have to make 2 soundcard work together. ALC882M sound driver is here: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/ (select High Definition Audio Codecs (Software)) The basketball bounce is too small to hear with crowd sound and commentary. You should decrease these option. Last edited by prime83; January 15th, 2009 at 06:07 PM. |
