Exclamation Gamers To Be Recognized By Hockey Hall of Fame in 2K Sports’ NHL® 2K9 In 360 Tourney

September 17th, 2008 – 2K Sports today announced details of the NHL® 2K9 online tournament, GET IN THE HALL, a once in a lifetime opportunity for virtual athletes to be honored in the 2K Sports NHL 2K9 Zone at the prestigious Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, Ontario. Exclusively available in Canada, players will compete in matches through the Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network of the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft over the next three months for their chance at this great prize.
Fans eager to test their virtual puck handling skills can register for the contest by downloading a tournament gamer pic from Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for the Xbox 360 that will then be displayed in their online profile. It will inform other players that they are a part of the draft and when contest-sanctioned games are played, their points will be recorded and tallied during the qualifying portion of the tournament on Xbox LIVE to determine which players move on in the series. In early October, registered participants must compete in a set amount of games to qualify for the top 256 players that will be placed into the tournament. A single elimination tournament will follow at the start of November, producing two semi-finalists who will be sent to the real-life 2009 NHL® All-Star Game to duke it out for the ultimate prize of being recognized with the 2K Sports Hockey Hall of Fame Championship Award in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Two additional awards will be available to participants: 2K Sports All-Around Offense Award and 2K Sports All-Around Defense Award. All three awards will be represented by trophies that will live at the Hockey Hall of Fame in the exclusive 2K Sports NHL 2K9 Zone, and each winner will have their name engraved on their respective individual trophy. Winners will also see their names on virtual versions of the above trophies in next year’s NHL® 2K10. For complete contest information on rules and regulations, upcoming events and timelines, please visit http://www.xbox.com/getinthehall/ or www.2ksports.com/HHOF.

I don't know about you other guys, but I tend to dream about hammering broads like Vida Guerra or Denise Milani =P

I mean, come on dude. I love it too, but it's just video hockey.

My question is, where the hell is the official tournament entry gamer pic on Xbox Live. I can't find it anywhere.

It's about time that you noticed that nothing good ever seems to happen on the PS3. However, Microsoft is sponsoring this tournament. You had to assume that MS wouldn't allow people of a competing system to take part.

I think it might be because we're excluded from the Team2K tourney. Even if gamespot were to win they'd have to DQ him cuz he's from Canada, but hey if you're from Australia or Germany you can go nuts on Team 2k

They need to bring this over to the ps3 and let me become double champion and I would like to thank 2k for putting my picture up on the team winners list. good to see my achievement and myself on there.

The problem with PS3 is that there is no XBOXlive. Paying for internet gaming greatly reduces the amount of duplicate accounts. Therefore, the integrity of the tournament that 2k puts out there is much more intact with xbox than Ps3. What would stop someone from entering a contest 2 or 3 times on the Ps3? Absolutly nothing. Betcha bottom dollar, that the next Gen sony product, you will be paying to game online.

Xboxlive is worth it though. You get so much more content.
